Fall 2014 Workout Playlist

I’m so glad that some of you found this morning’s collection of randomness as humorous as I did. Hey, whatever gets you through the day right?

Also, thank you for your advice on how to tackle studying Anatomy!

I get the general concepts of muscles, their functions, and what to stretch or work if one is dysfunctional, but the proper names of each one is what has been haunting me. I read each and every suggestion you all sent over and I am very grateful for you taking the time to share your tactics.

Now onto the good stuff. I feel like I just shared a workout playlist not too long ago, but alas, here I am to share another.

According to your page clicks and suggestions via email, a lot of you enjoy when I share my music with you, so I don’t feel bad about it.

I started putting this list together at the beginning of September and know my love for music and putting lists together will only continue to grow. Is sharing two workout playlists a season too many? Please let me know…

Anyways, here are the tunes that have been powering me through my workouts and long training runs lately!

This Fall Favorites workout playlist is up with a few extras tagged onto the end. You can expect it to keep getting longer over the next couple of weeks too. (I have a problem.)

Woo hoo!

This playlist has been on repeat during all of my training runs lately, and I really can’t get enough of it.

Today I set out for a 5 mile Tempo Run and left Roadie behind. He can’t always go, right? Running four times a week can’t be the best on his puppy bones and joints. He’s no “puppy”, but you know what I mean.

It was kind of nice to run solo. I haven’t done that in a while!

I made it through at a decent pace and was more than ready for lunch when I got home. I have been on a huge soup and salad kick this week!

Baby spinach, yellow, red and green peppers, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, feta (un-pictured dressing) with a beef and barley vegetable soup.

Shortly after I cleaned up, I also enjoyed a slice of whole wheat toast smeared in seed (and chocolate) butter.

It was yummy!

More Summer Workout Music

Hi friends! I have been getting some requests to share more of my workout music, so I am here to deliver. But first, I wanted to talk about this afternoon’s (blazing) run outside with Roadie.

I have been hearing how unbearably hot it is from family and friends down in Florida, and today I finally felt it.

I wanted to get a run in and needed to do so before an appointment I have at 4, so I took my chances against the sun and mid-80 degree heat of the afternoon and took Roadie out for a loop on the trails.

I would have sworn that Fall was approaching a couple of weeks ago. This week, however, Summer feels and looks like it’s here to stay for a while.

We ended up taking a couple of breaks in the shade on our run to keep cool, which I’m sure the pup appreciated.

Upon our return home, I made sure that we both re-hydrated and I jumped in the shower.

As soon as I got back downstairs, I wanted all of the cold things in our freezer and made a smoothie bowl the size of my head. Well… what do you know, I ended up eating all of it.

In my smoothie:

frozen spinach

frozen banana

frozen strawberries

frozen grapes

1 scoop Designer Whey vanilla protein powder

a generous amount of almond milk to get it going!

Summer 2014 Running + Workout Playlist II

I was going to wait until the Fall to roll out my next workout playlist, but I have received a handful of requests to share more of them.

Summer tends to feature a ton of hit music on the radio, so I guess I lucked out there. Below you will find a compilation of jams I have been loving and breaking a sweat to over the past couple of weeks.
