I have been in a very musical mood lately. So into it that I buy a ridiculous amount of music on iTunes, make playlists, and become addicted to each one for a few days. I just keep playing it over and over.
It might actually be a problem.
Before you get the assumption, I don’t, in fact, think I am some kind of DJ or something. I just happen to be a huge fan of almost any type of music. Every time I post a playlist, I get the gist that you enjoy them, so I figured I would throw something different out there today and see how it goes.
This one was put together specifically for me to “chill out” to. Whether I need to take some time to relax and unwind from the day, something to calm me down during traffic, or even music to fall asleep to, these are the batch of songs that have been doing the trick!
I know it may not be as relevant as my workout playlists… but I went out on a limb and welcome your feedback (yay or nay on these types of playlists) in the comments section below.
Winter 2014 Chill Music (Slow Down) Playlist
Before I get to them, I wanted to let you all in on how I bunch my songs together. It’s so easy. I pick a Pandora station I like (this one was James Morrison) and I thumbs up and thumbs down my song preferences. If I really like it, I bookmark it.
After a month or so, I take a look at my bookmarks and decide if I want to buy any of them. What you see is what I purchased!
1. Story of My Life – One Direction
2. I Won’t (iTunes Session) – Colbie Caillat
3. Golden Train – Justin Nozuka
4. If I Lose Myself (Acoustic) – OneRepublic (this version is so, so great!)
5. Use Somebody (Bonus Track) – Tyrone Wells (still can’t get over this song!)
6. Lego House – Ed Sheeran
7. Wake Me Up Avicii – Madilyn Bailey (<- umm… love her covers!)
8. Near to You – A Fine Frenzy
9. What I Know – Parachute
10. Sad – Maroon 5
11. I Want Crazy (Encore) – Hunter Hayes (just skip to the :50 mark)
12. Baby I Want You – Amos Lee
13. I Won’t Let You Go – James Morrison
14. Pretty Brown Eyes – Cody Simpson
15. Say Something (The X Factor USA Performance) – Alex & Sierra
16. Give Me One Reason – Tyrone Wells ft. Jason Reeves
17. I Lived – OneRepublic
18. Shake It Out – Florence + The Machine
In some weird way, having different types of playlists ready to go really helps me through daily projects and tasks. When I’m blogging, I like something upbeat and fun like Glee Cast Radio. At night I like Ed Sheeran. Before a workout, I always turn to Today’s Hits to pump me up. Yay Pandora!
As much as I would love to continue to ramble on, I need to put on a workout playlist and knock out a good one before the afternoon gets away from me. Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

January 14, 2014
Hello, hello! Okay… for the last week or so I have been promising a jump back into health and fitness focused posts back on the blog and today I am here to deliver.
What you all might not realize is that I actually do tend to stay active, even when I don’t write about it. I don’t always mention it because who really wants to hear “I went to Fitness Pilates again.” Ha. Not even me. In fact, I feel slightly embarrassed to enter it in daily mile these days. I’m waiting for someone to say “change it up, sister!”
Don’t worry guys, I got this. With a little inspiration from a new workout playlist and incentive to test out a new interval stopwatch for HIIT and Tabata workouts, I plan to get back into posting new and fun workouts.
Before we get too crazy, let’s start out with that playlist. I don’t know about you, but loading a fresh batch of upbeat music onto my phone always gets me going in the gym. Or on the running trails, whatever. Here’s what has been pumping me up this season!

And a whole series of half marathon training playlists you can find on the Fitness page!
Today I am heading out to the hair salon with hopes of finding new dinner recipe inspiration on my downtime there. Any requests out there? Casserole, soup, pasta?
What is one workout song you have been loving lately?
Have a great rest of your Tuesday!

It’s the weekend! I hope yours is starting out on a wonderful note.
Ours is already going by faster than you can say “Welcome back to Florida!” Scott and I have spent our trip home visiting as many sights and people as we can squeeze in before our departure back home early Sunday morning.
Oh, and did I mention Sunday is a game day… AND Scott’s 40th Birthday? (Yup, 40.) I’m sure that both of us will be looking forward to slowing things down Monday after it is all said and done. Until then, no breathing is necessary!
I plan to put together a post of my favorite Central Florida to-do’s next week including restaurants, parks, and places to have fun in our area. Since I want to focus on spending time with friends and family while we are here, I am waiting to cover anything Florida until then and am instead sharing a new playlist with you today!
Here is a list of my favorite upbeat running and workout music that has been getting me going lately.
I haven’t heard #8 down south yet, so I’m guessing releasing Eminem early might be a Detroit thing.
Sorry to make it so short today. We’re off to an early breakfast, a pop in at a practice, lunch with friends, then a wedding later on this afternoon. Promise to catch you all up on the festivities next week. Enjoy the weekend!

#FFavorites Thank You
Before I go, I wanted to say a big THANK YOU to anyone to commented or linked up on yesterday’s Friday Favorites post. I love seeing the things you have been loving lately and have enjoyed watching it grow as the weeks go by. Also, if you still would like to play along in the link up section, it is still open until next Thursday. Party on!
August 22, 2013
I’m finding myself moving a bit on the slower side today.
We have started our regular practices and workouts and (I don’t know if it’s just me, but) they seem to be harder than ever. Last night was three straight hours of learning choreography, cleaning, performing, and blocking several routines. Oh, and don’t forget the 30-minute core sculpting workout at the end. Pistons Dancers are not playing around this year, ya’ll!
As much as my body feels it the next day (and believe me – at 28 years old – I am feeling it), I love the extra challenges this year has already put me through. We still haven’t formed an official team for the upcoming season, so we all have to bring our “A game” to every single practice. It is exhausting, but awesome at the same time.
This morning’s coffee time lasted longer than usual, and then I found myself doing laundry, foam rolling, and putzing around until just a short while ago. I know I need to get my booty in gear, run errands, get to the gym, work on a few projects, and get some groceries in the house! It’s been ages since I’ve even attempted to create a new recipe. Ages. Maybe today is the day?
Anyways, the point of this post is to share my latest go get ‘em playlist with you! As you probably know, I am a music freak and am always putting new playlists together.
I recently shared my Summer 2013 Running + Workout Playlist, and now I am continuing on with the second part of it. The summer time always produces the best hit music!
Summer 2013 Running + Workout Playlist II
I can’t for the life of me figure out how to embed my playlist here. I know it’s possible, but think spending more than 30 minutes trying to do so is a little ridiculous.
For now, click to give it a listen online!
Don’t forget to give yourself at least a song’s worth of a good cool down and stretching at the end of your run or workout. I kind of force it on you by including a slower song in at the end every time. Muwahahaha!
I’m going to keep it short today and get back to my list of today’s To-Do’s. Now that I have my playlist rockin’, I’m ready to get after it. Have a great Thursday!
