Spring 2013 Workout Playlist
Hey ya’ll! (<- I am totally allowed to say that again, now that I am back down south.)
Although I am technically “on vacation”, I still plan to check in and share meals, workouts, pictures, and everyday musings as much as I can. Today I am posting from Jacksonville Beach, and am about to head back to Orlando after an eventful few days of visiting friends and family up here!
First things first, I have to make a quick shout out to my mom who had a birthday Saturday. She turned the big 5-9, and I am sharing this with you because I am so, so proud of her.
Before Scott and I moved up north, I would often meet her for a run outside on the weekends. She completed the same 10 week training program for her first half marathon as us, ran one the same day us us, and since then has raced another one on her own!
I also ran my first 10K with her last year, and the two of us continue to encourage each other to keep running and racing via phone calls, text messages and pictures.
Before I even got into town Friday afternoon, the two of us already planned how we going to spend the start of her birthday… running! To honor her 59th, we decided about half way through to go for six miles: 5.9 for her age, and an extra o.1 for good luck!

We made it through in justtttt under an hour (59:48) at a 9:58 min/mile pace. It was a bit slower than my usual time, but I was completely okay adapting to the birthday girl’s instead.
Florida is exactly how I remember it: hot and humid! Since my arrival, it has rained off and on, and we had some serious wind and storms up in Jacksonville.
Even so, it is nice to be home and be able to run around the neighborhood and lake I grew up at. (Oh hey, palm trees!)
Spring 2013 Running + Workout Playlist
Before leaving, I put together a new running/workout playlist to enjoy here and thought you might like it too. Like most of them, it is filled with hit songs I can’t get out of my head lately, and ends with a slow tune to remind you to include a cool down and stretch. <- No skipping allowed.
Let’s jam!

Listen Online
I put my playlists together using playlist.com, and it is a great (and free) tool to be able to use and share full song previews with you. Go on and give it a listen!
If that fancy schmancy player doesn’t work for you, try clicking here instead. Also, that voice over ad that sneakily pops into the first song a few times only happens during that song, promise.
Okay kids, time for me to pack up and get read to hit the road. I am looking forward using this batch of music later on when I visit my mom’s gym in Orlando today. I plan to soak as much quality time in as I can… workouts included.
Have a great start to your week!

Winter 2012-13 Workout Playlist
Good Morning! I have a very exciting list of little things for you. Don’t worry, you will understand why I phrased it that way in a minute…
I think I need to start buying stock in iTunes. Since I spend the majority of my workdays sitting at the computer at home, I play music in the background ninety-nine percent of the time. I can honestly say that I like all types of music. From alternative to country, you can find me jamming out to pretty much anything out there.
Today I wanted to share my latest playlist that has motivated me to get out and go for a run. I have also used it at the gym and think you might like to hear and possibly even break a sweat to it as well.
Winter 2012-13 Workout Playlist
Here are my latest favorites for the season. As always, I threw in a slow jam at the end to make sure you include a cool down and stretch. <- Please take time to do it!

I have made this playlist available for you to listen online, however, this time there was a good amount I had to leave off.

Either I could not find the clean versions, or the program did not like the song I was requesting… so here are links to the ones that are missing.
• Va Va Voom – Nicki Minaj
• Tonight Is The Night – Outasight
• Scream & Shout – Will.i.am ft. Britney Spears
• Heart Attack – Trey Songz
• Finally Found You – Enrique Iglesias
• Workout – J Cole
• Pound The Alarm – Nicki Minaj
• Little Things – One Direction
(WHOO! Is that it?)
*Please note to download the clean versions, or don’t say the recommendations were from me!

2012 Holiday Favorites Playlist
Good Morning Turkeys! Did you have a good Thanksgiving? I sure did… and I am still stuffed. I will get into exactly what we did next time because today I am here to share something pretty magical!
Growing up, we decorate our house for Christmas on Black Friday – a.k.a. the day after Thanksgiving. We have never been ones to hit the mall or spend the day shopping. After a full day of giving thanks and stuffing our faces, my family has always liked to jump ‘on into the holiday spirit by putting up the tree and decorating the house with holiday music playing in the background.
This year, I have been more excited than normal to get the party started! I have been asking Scott if we can decorate the house ever since we moved into our new home just a few weeks ago.
Sadly, his vetoed the idea and I promised to wait until after Thanksgiving was over. Better than that, I am not even planning on doing any kind of decorating today. Instead, we are spending the day with Scott’s father and step-mother while they are still here. I guess the lights and tensil will have to wait until the weekend…
I may not be able to decorate yet, but I can certainly listen to all of the holiday music I want! Over the past week, I have been tuning into R&B and Pop Holidays Radio on Pandora. Like every day. I kept saying to myself “Oh, I love that song!” and finally took note of all my favorites. Hey, it is never too soon to start spreading holiday cheer in my book!
Holiday Favorites Playlist
For those of you who are decorating or spending the day at home, I wanted to share a playlist of my favorite holiday songs this year. Some are oldies, some are super oldies, and some are by artists currently on the charts.
And ladies, the *Nsync and 98 Degrees throwbacks are for you.

By the way, does anyone else automatically think of the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation when you hear Mele Kalikimaka? I just could not help but add it to the list. The scene where that song plays is so classic.
If you would like to hear this playlist, you can always listen online.
*Please Note: Holiday music is tricky to find via playlist.com. Not all of the versions of my songs are available to listen to, so a few are missing and similar artists are substituted for a few others.

Happy Listening!
Questions of the Day
• When do you start playing holiday music? Anyone before Thanksgiving?
• What do you and your family normally do on Black Friday?

Fall 2012 Workout Playlist
Happy Saturday! I originally scheduled this post to go out yesterday, but lo and behold when it came time to publish it, the entire thing disappeared. Bloggers: has this ever happened to you? It has happened to me a number of times, twice being this week. Super frustrating! #blogpostingproblems
So a Saturday late morning post it is!
As the days go by, it feels like we are starting to settle into the area and get back to more of “normal” routine. Normal for me includes blogging and working from home, spending some quality time with Roadie, running errands, working out, and possibly even attending an event our outing.
Outings have been taking up the majority of our time lately! I spent the entire day with Yana yesterday shopping for winter clothes, signing a lease for our condo (YAY!) and going to a Detroit Pistons game. Today, Roadie is loving that both Scott and I are spending the afternoon at home the hotel.
Fall 2012 Workout Playlist
Since the 80 degree weather turned into the low 40s this morning, I think it is time for me to test out the whole running outside in the cold thing, while it’s still on the “warmer” side. Yes, to Michigan locals, 40 degrees is warm. Yikes!
Hopefully a fresh batch of tunes will help motivate me to get out there with an extra pep in my step. (It usually does!)

For those interested, you can also listen to this playlist online.

And yes… I had to include a little Gangnam Style. The song (and especially the video) gets me every time!
For more workout song ideas, check out my Playlist category located on the Fitness Page.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Question of the Day
• What kind of music do you like to listen to while running or working out?
I am usually a sucker for what is currently popular on the radio. I am also a HUGE fan of 80s music! Whenever I have a long day at the computer ahead of me, I often find myself jamming to the Best of the 80s Reloaded Pandora station. So good!
